Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all have managed to keep your New Year’s resolutions longer than me. I told myself I was going to have another fresh start in February and this was just the trial, but we will see how I do…

J. Crew has brought back some super cute Excursion vest patterns this year. They have their classic solids which you can never go wrong with and go with so many items in your closet and then there is the buffalo check vest which is the statement piece of your outfit. P.S. the vest is found (here). I have worn this vest with a couple different pieces in my closet, but this combination is my favorite. I guess you could say it’s because I like mixing patterns. Any who, When I purchased this vest it was on sale with an additional 40% however, that vest has sold out and they seemed to have restocked the vest, but put it back on the website at full price. *dun dun, dun* So I will say just to keep an eye out on the website in a couple weeks if you just HAVE to have this piece.

(So in LOVE with this Kate Spade Harmony Tote in the Mystic Blue color found here. )

For reference sizing, I ordered an xx-small which is the normal size I order in my Excursion vests.

Overall, this is a great layering piece for sweaters or if your pea coats aren’t warm enough it works perfect underneath for additional warmth.

Another popular item that looks great with this vest is the white and black striped turtleneck.  This top works well with any other pattern together. It is a great piece to start off with if you wanted to start pattern mixing.
